Most dogs don't. We plan for it. One of us handles while the other shoots, so your dog always has a person with treats, a squeaker, and patience.

We work in short bursts with breaks. A leash stays on if it helps and comes out in editing. Your dog does not need to be trained.

Tell us on the planning call. Reactive dogs usually do better at home, where nothing is new. In the studio we can schedule so your dog never meets another animal on the way in.

We ask that a reactive dog stays leashed and that you handle the leash. We keep the session calm and stop if your dog needs to stop.

Shy dogs warm up. We start slow, let your dog sniff the gear, and keep the first few minutes camera-free. Some of our favorite frames come after the first twenty minutes, once the room stops being scary.

Studio for the painterly, fine-art look on a clean dark or light backdrop. It is also the calmer choice for a pet that travels well.

Home for a pet that is happiest on its own couch, for cats, for older or anxious animals, and for the everyday scenes you already love. We bring the backdrop and the light either way. In-home covers Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake, with $50 added beyond 20 miles.

Yes, and we like it. Cats are almost always photographed at home, in their own space, on their own schedule. We bring a small setup and follow the cat.

Yes. The session includes up to two pets. Each pet beyond two adds $50. We photograph them together and separately, and we take turns so nobody has to hold a group pose for long.

Please do. People in the photos are included at no charge. We finish every session with the frames of you and your pet together, and those are usually the ones that end up on the wall.

The favorite toy, high-value treats if your pet is food-motivated, a comb or brush for last-minute touch-ups, and a slip lead or flat collar. Wear what you would wear in the photo. We send a short prep guide three days before the session.

Sixty to ninety minutes. Seasonal minis are twenty minutes in the studio. We never rush a pet that needs a break.

Your private proof gallery of 25 to 40 images opens within seven days. The ordering call happens on day 10 to 14. Digital images arrive within seven days of your order, prints and frames in about three weeks, and albums in four to six weeks.

No. The session fee is credited toward any collection or artwork, and the smallest collection is mostly digital images. Most people leave the ordering call with a framed piece because they see it on their own wall first, but there is no minimum and no hard sell.

The session fee is $350, credited in full. Collections are $650, $1,200, and $2,200, so after the credit most clients spend between $300 and $1,850 on top of the fee. The middle collection, a 16x20 framed piece with ten digital images, is the one most people choose. Every price is on the sessions page.

Studio sessions happen rain or shine. For outdoor and beach sessions, and for a sick pet, you get one free reschedule. We watch the forecast and call it early so nobody drives in the rain.

In the studio, yes, once the gate at the stairs is closed and your dog is settled. Outdoors we follow city rules, which means leashed at the Oceanfront and in the parks. A leash held just out of frame disappears in editing, so it never shows.
